CCD-shift image stabilization was previously thought to be incompatible with a shockproof camera, but Olympus was able to incorporate an effective image stabilization mechanism thanks to the development of an Olympus-original shock resistance mechanism that could be incorporated in the camera without increasing its size. The cover protecting the LCD against water pressure has an AR (Anti-Reflection) coating on both sides to prevent degradation of LCD visibility by reflections of direct sunlight.
